It was an anti-climatic end to a high-octane Test series as the rain had the final say in the fourth and final Test match of the series. India had a great chance to make it 3-1 in the series as they were confident of bowling out Australia again on the final day. But the persistent rain and bad weather didn’t allow them to do so. Nevertheless, they were anyways going to win the contest for the first time down under and there was elation in the camp when it was officially confirmed.

There were unique celebrations on the field as the visitors performed a lap of honour for the sparse crowd, a majority of Indians, who came to the stadium to witness the history. This team works hard and enjoys a lot. An example of the same was visible on the field today when Rishabh Pant came up with a dancing step and everybody performed.

Meanwhile, the Man of the Series and India’s wall Cheteshwar Pujara tried his best but couldn’t perform the steps. Watching him dance left all the players in splits even as Pant made Pujara shake his legs. However, the efforts went in vain as the ‘simple’ Pujara couldn’t do it.

I had no idea

The Indian team performed the dance in front of the Indian fans and Virat Kohli admitted that he had no idea why they were doing it when asked in the press conference. “You’ll have to ask Rishabh that, he came up with that and we just went along. I don’t know what he was trying to do to be honest. It just felt good, it was very easy, but Pujara couldn’t even do that. You can see how simple he is,” he said.

Kohli also further went on to joke and say that it was Pujara’s version of dancing. “That was the Pujara dance because when he walks he doesn’t move his hands. It’s more of an extension of his walk. Rishabh came up and we just joined in,” the 30-year-old added.
